Case notes are what we use to “tell the family’s story”. In writing case notes there are some standards of practice which should be implemented to ensure the story is collected in a professional and respectful manner. This if often the part of the job most people dread as it takes time and reflection. However, we must acknowledge that between the case notes and the goal plan documents this is the only evidence we have of the work being done with the families we are supporting.
Upon completion of this workshop, participants will:
- Understand the importance and relevance of case note writing
- Develop best practices regarding the utilization of case notes for supervision, goal planning and case management
- Have experienced practice documentation scenarios
- Be able to identify strategies for implementing efficient and effective documentation processes
